After 8 months and 40 paintings, I decided to buy Golden Acrylics. There are so many myths about it that it has high quality and that you can save more because you will use less paint. Before buying Golden Acrylics, I use a student grade. It’s a lot cheaper – only 25% of the Golden Acrylics price. I bought Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Yellow Light, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White and Mars Black. Based on experience, you can make the whole color wheel from here. I limited the number of paints so i will learn to mix colors or else I’ll be comfortable and will think less if i have a collection of paints. It will also cut the cost for paints. What also made me decide to buy Golden Acrylics are the Clear Leveling Gel and the Retarder. I use Golden Acrylics Clear Leveling Gel to smoothen the canvas as well as preserve the layers once I applied another layer. Golden Acrylics Retarder extends the drying time of acrylic paints thus enabling you to do blending.
