Kuala, Malaysia Travel I: Foodies

Welcome to Sandjackal. This is a very important vlog for me because it’s a one milestones in my life. It is my first out-of-the country solo travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I should have started a vlog about my flight and hotel accommodation but i started with curation of food because I was so amazed with the spices. Malaysia has a diverse culture of Malaysian, Chinese and Indian thus local foods are distinct with each other.

The first food I ate is Creamy  Perch Fish in Blu Apron. In the evening I ate a spicy Burrito with Salsa and Guacamole in La Chica.

The next morning I still feel full. I bought Chocolate Chips and Americano Coffee. I still have the Burrito from last nigh. Americano here is not sour or has low acidity.

By the afternoon I walked to Sungei Wang Plazza and I had a local dish – curry, anchovies, boiled egg, alamang and rice. Its one heavy meal. Alamang as we call here in PH is made with shrimps.

Then there was a red velvet cake for dinner. Also from Blue apron.

And here’s the spiciest of all – chicken curry and rawa thosai at Sri Vinayaga Curry House. This left me speechless. It is mesmerizingly so goooood. So good that i didnt notice that my tongue is burning. The coffee with condensed milk is a good compliment to the spices. There 4 kinds of sauce – coconut milk, one made of beans , one is made of pickle and the other one is chilli. I thought that this bean sauce is made of corn because of it yellow color. Everything is just unpredictable.

They also have sugary candies. Perfect dessert after the spicy meal.

This is my last dinner in KL, its Fritas and steamy hot soft tacos. Its my first time to see a hot taco like this. It is served with guacamole, cheese and mayo. Fritas is made of shredded beef, pepper and onion.

For my dessert, its my first time to eat big churros. Its crunchy, sugary and with cinnamon. Dip on a  hot melted chocolate.

Those are the food i ate in Kuala Lumpur. Its an entirely new experience to my senses. Lots of spices. Its one of the benefits of traveling that you get to experience different culture and cuisine. When I came home, I started picking chilli peppers in our backyard. And still those spices from Malaysia still lingers to my senses.
